The Credit Card Sales Rep How To Deal With Them

When we have credit cards, sooner or later we will have to deal with the credit card sales rep. There are many cases when you will need to talk to the credit card sales rep: negotiating a lower annual percentage rate, getting a credit limit increase, making a monthly payment or something else. However, the hardest conversation with the credit card sales rep that you will have is when talking about your past due debt. There are several reasons why you would contact the credit card sales rep in this case.

One of the reasons why you would contact the credit card sales rep is to settle your debt. Other possible reasons why you would contact the credit card sales rep is to sign up on a monthly payment plan, lower your payment or even close your account through full repayment. The better you construct your conversation with the credit card sales rep the more you will get out of it. Think your conversation through before you call. Make sure to take notes during the conversation. If you agree on the settlement amount, make sure to request the credit card sales rep to send this agreement to you in writing.

When talking to the credit card sales rep, be patient and dont attack them. Any regular credit card sales rep is just another person doing a low pay job. If you talk to a credit card sales rep in a nice manner, you will usually achieve a better result. However, this is not the case every time. Sometimes you may end up talking to a credit card sales rep who is, for some reason, not able to negotiate with you. This way you might need to talk to someone in the management or call another credit card sales rep.
